2012 Nicky Winmar Football Carnival
NOMINATIONS INVITED FOR NICKY WINMAR CARNIVAL
Background of Teams for Nicky Winmar Carnival:
Previous NWC teams were made up of players from various areas of WA with not specific boundaries. The 2012 NWC teams will enter teams made up from the relevant WAFL football zones. This will allow the clubs to identify footballers from their zones and hopefully some of these players will be put into development squads and/or linked with local clubs within the various districts if they are not in the football pathways.
The carnival will be held at Bendigo bank Stadium, Mandurah
Saturday 18 February 3pm - 8pm

WAFL Clubs and the WAFC are supporting this event in the following areas:
· Assist with Training Venues
· Provide support in areas of coaching
· Jumper Access
· Talent Identification
· Provide linkage to Local Football Clubs
· Linkage for all volunteers to undertake Coaching and Umpiring Accreditation Courses
· Providing WAFL / AFL Players for Mentoring
· Targeting disengaged Youth back in Football
Further Information:
· Eligible Players: Birth Year 1997, 1998, 1999
· Strict Age Requirements: Birth Certificates will/may be asked for by the Team Manager
· Selection of Squad for State Indigenous 15’s will occur at the Carnival and this team will participate in the AFL Kickstart Program
· Players that are interested in playing the first point of contact needs to be made with the coaches on the flyer
· Female “Exhibition Match” will also be held on the day
