We went down to Mandurah expecting it to be a wet and windy day for football. Apart from the oval being a bit slippery it was a good day for football.
It was a hard and physical contest all day with only a couple of goals being the biggest margin for the day, with four minutes to play the game was all level but Peel finished the better side and won the game by 6 points.
We went into the game by making 7 changes due to injury and illness, again we had to rely on the colts to fill in for us and we had a few return from injury.
We were pleased with the effort and the intensity that the players showed throughout the game but our skill level and decision making under no pressure wasn’t good at times and caused costly turnovers that cost us 5 goals.
At times when we moved the ball quickly and directly into our forwards we looked very good but it didn’t happen enough.
Our better players for the game were Tim Viney, Ben Heffernan-Roper, Abe Davey, Ryan Smith and Tyson Keene.
Thanks again for your support and hope to see you all when we take on West Perth this weekend.
