The Subiaco Football Club is very committed to football development in both our metro and country zones. We are proud to be the leaders and innovators in football development in Western Australia.
The Subiaco Football Club as part of the WAFL Pathway is dedicated to its responsibilities within its zones to encourage young players to play Australian Football. Part of its responsibility is to be a supporter of the Talent Pathway and as such is very much in favour of.
- Exposing as many players as is possible to the talent pathway.
- Being an advocate of the two development squads in the 14s & 15s (first half of the year and second half of the year) which increases the opportunities for all players.
- Allowing for late developers the opportunity to play against players of equal development.
- Allowing for more players to be exposed to WAFL Clubs and in particular to be part of and learn about Subiaco Football Club.
As such, the development objectives of the Subiaco Football Club are as follows:
- To identify and expose players to the Subiaco Football Club.
- To provide players an opportunity to participate in an elite competition.
- To further develop the skills of the players & coaches, and their understanding of the game
The Subiaco Football Club Development Squads have been named after players who have been involved in the Subiaco development system and have progresses through to AFL Football. We see these players as role models and examples of how players graduate through the player pathway.
